Please keep in mind that wood is a natural product! No two pieces are the same - therefore images are representative and not exact. All natural unfinished products may require additional preparation to some extent, including sanding and filling any minor natural imperfections before finishing. We always recommend that you work with an expert for finishing to achieve the best results. We recommend sealing the tread entirely in the finishing process. If doing the work yourself, you should consult with a pro at minimum to ensure you have the proper techniques.
Because we ship across the country, we often spray our treads with a stabilizer to reduce the effect of changes in moisture between climates. This coating has no effect on staining or finishing.
Please note there is no color match standard for these treads.

There are lots of retrofit stair treads in the market and they all claim they have the best material. I have been a staircase contractor since 1991. I have used and made lots of retrofits in my line of work. At WWF, they have some of the best treads in the market at fair price ( It should have better margins for contractors). Their packaging is great and also they ship fast but most importantly, if there is a problem with a tread, they replace it No questions asked and fast. I will keep selling your product. Was looking to renovate our stairs which were covered with horribly old and dingy carpet. And what was underneath was just contractor grade stairs, so this product was perfect! Had some questions about what to get, how to do end caps, and how many treads to purchase, and Howie provided great service! My only wish, is that they made end cap/returns for these, as I had to buy extra treads and rip the nosing off and make my own, which proved to be quite difficult. But I made it work, and they look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thanks Howie, and thanks Whitewater Forest Products!
