When you look up at a staircase, the face of the tread is what you see. Most suppliers that we're aware of sell treads with a face glued nose.

We sell mostly treads with an edge glued nose. Here's the difference:

The tread on the left in the below image is has an edge glued nose. The image on the right is a face glued nose. Looking up at the stairs, the edge glued tread on the left will have a much cleaner look.
